Computer generated imaging and all the accompanying technologies that so much define todays filmmaking let you sometimes forget the simple and basic principle behind moving pictures. Though it just needs a bicycle to remind us. Entering the Cyclotrope which is a cycle of 18 images that is spun at a certan speed so that the frame rate of the camera filming it gives the illusion of animation. And the funny thing is that I’m as fascinated by this simple visual effect as by modern CGI.
