A series of animated gifs in which Mike Guppy, a London based artist, replaced the main character with a ‘marching ants’ outline. See more images here and check out his somewhat unusual website.

Btw, his Mona Lisa version or maybe even the whole series was inspired by ‘Replaced Mona Lisa’ by Mike Ruiz (see top). He selected the Mona Lisa inside Photoshop and used the tool Content-Aware Fill to create the missing parts of the background. What you see then is a potential landscape as interpreted by the software. The image was then sent to an painting manufacturer in China where an oil painting was produced. In the meantime Leonardo da Vinci is seriously thinking about revenge, I guess!
